How Often Should You Get Your Eyes Tested?

Getting your eyes tested with some frequency is very important as severe problems can occur if eye problems are not treated promptly enough. It is recommended that both adults and children get their eyes tested once every two years.

In some cases it might be recommended that you have your eyes tested more regularly. Situations that might cause this are if you are over 70, over 40 and have a history of glaucoma in the family or if you suffer with diabetes or similar conditions.

If you are entitled to a free eye test on the NHS then you will have to wait two years between tests and if you paid for your last one but are now eligible for an NHS eye test then you will still be required to wait. You can of course pay for a test if you feel it is necessary and the correct time hasn’t passed. Prices vary at different optician Coventry practices.

If you leave it too long between eye tests you could risk and conditions you might suffer with getting worse or your eyesight degrading more rapidly. You might want to spare the cost but it’s not worth the cost to your long term health so do try your best to go for regular check ups.
